7 Principles of Nature: How We Strayed and How We Return
About the Event
Are humans officially out of sync with the natural world? Is this disconnection the underlying cause of mental exhaustion? Join Dr. Aldrich Chan, neuropsychologist and psychotherapist, as he breaks down how we lost our connection to nature and, more importantly, how we can get it back.
In this engaging talk, Dr. Chan bridges hard science and ancient wisdom to reveal the three phases of our current disconnection (the SAD theory -Separation, Alienation, and Discord). Resolving the misalignment involves mitigating our disconnection with natural conditions (evolutionary mismatch theory) and principles (‘nature-relation’ mismatch).
Blending the rigor of science with contemplative philosophy, Dr. Chan addresses these challenges by revealing 7 Principles of Nature to abide by alongside practical insights learned from modern hunter-gatherer societies. Come learn how to reduce stress, improve focus, and live a more grounded life.
Dr. Chan's books, 7 Principles of Nature: How We Strayed and How We Return was published in October 2025, and Reassembling Models of Reality in April, 2021. Both books will be available for purchase and book signing at the event.
Refreshments will be served prior to the lecture.
